Served as trial, arbitration, negotiation, and appellate counsel for numerous companies, healthcare providers, physicians, residential and commercial construction companies, and oil and gas operators; acted as outside general counsel for more than thirty small and medium sized businesses; lead counsel for multiple merger and acquisition projects, including several multi-million dollar deals; handled numerous medical malpractice lawsuits; drafted proposed model legislation to be used by client in lobbying efforts; drafted, reviewed, and negotiated sales and lease contracts, employment agreements, licensing agreements, as well as corporation, joint venture, and partnership formation documents; appeared as first-chair counsel at several trials and countless hearings; successful in oral argument before the Dallas Court of Appeals; drafted appellate briefs, including a brief to the United States Supreme Court, and dispositive motions; defended prominent sports infrastructure company in product defect suit resulting in zero dollar settlement and recovery of defense costs from co-defendant; served as special litigation counsel for the Chapter 7 Trustee on multiple occasions; secured seven-figure judgment against the State of Texas in a wrongful forfeiture action.

Negotiated managed care contracts with hospitals and ancillary providers across a ninety-seven county region of southwest Texas; successfully led transition of south Texas hospitals following Blue Cross’s acquisition of PruCare HMO; worked directly with hospitals and other providers, including conducting educational seminars for hospital employees, to encourage use of electronic billing, leading to millions of dollars in cost savings; worked directly with the United States Office of Personnel Management and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Director’s Office concerning Federal Employee Program benefits and member-generated appeals; served as FEP benefit specialist within the Texas and Illinois customer service departments.
